BREAKING: Students Charged Retroactively for Ram Cafe Purchases Without Warning

Today, community members are Fordham College at Lincoln Center are being charged retroactively for purchases they made in the Ram Cafe. In some cases, these charges exceed ten purchases or $30, and date back to before Thanksgiving.

A source from dining services told The Observer that the issue was related to a register in the Ram Cafe not being programmed properly and was not processing purchases at the time of transaction. The register in question has been fixed, but it is now charging people for these purchases that did not initially go through.

Another source from dining services said that Aramark is currently working on addressing the issues and that “There is an issue with the credit card companies batching late for past purchases.”

There is currently a list available near the registers for students to fill out their information in the case that they have charges coming through en masse today, purportedly to check the legitimacy of each charge..

Inside 140, Lincoln Center’s Newest Addition

The old law building sat largely unexplored by Fordham Lincoln Center undergraduates for years, but this fall, students will have incentive to venture across campus. An extensive update and renovation has created a new Student Center to house student organizations, clubs, classrooms, faculty offices, an Argo Tea “tea-osk” and the updated Quinn Library space.

This renovated space now open to students includes social and study areas, faculty offices and permanent rooms for student organizations like the Campus Activities Board (CAB), Commuter Students Association (CSA) and United Student Government (USG). The Office of Student Involvement has also been moved to a new office close to the organizations it oversees.
